Tallahassee is near the opposite coast from the ocean (about 2 1/2 - 3hr hr drive). Jacksonville is probably the nearest big ciry on the ocean coast. Mapquest the distance from Tallahassee to Jacksonville and that will be real close. Tallahassee is however much closer to the gulf (about an hour or so).
