i'm having the same issue as you are. here in tallahassee, there isn't that much avaliable even during the summer. so what i'm doing is asking around seeing if anyone is hiring. also, many big chain companies will post job listings on their website. for example, if you would like to work at best buy, you would go to their website and scroll down to the bottom of the entire screen where it says all of their business stuff. many times they have a link that will say "career" or something along that line. oh by the way, best buy is not hiring now, i already checked.
so that's what i'm doing, just going online and applying to any place that says they have an opening.
looking on craigslist is good, and also the wanted adds in the paper, but a lot of times they are just hard labor. but if that is what you want to do than go for it!! yeah the fsu website bites, as i'm sure you have already found out.
if you get really desperate, publix always hires. that is going to be my last resort. not that i don't like publix...i just don't want to work there.
i'm sorry that i couldn't help out too much. its just a really hard time to be looking for a job. if you need any ideas on places to look at, feel free to email me. i don't know how long you have been living here but i've been here for 7 years so i know quite a bit about tallahassee.
