I was raised in Neenah Wisconsin and we have a really low crime rate..were moving to florida and i'm kind of scared..is Tallahassee pretty scary?Is Tallahassee a Rough city to raise kids in?
there are ALOT of college students there, but I don't think it is any worse than any other. There is no shortage of any kind of drugs there, that should be your main concern.
Tallahasse isnt a scary place. I'm from Thomasville, GA, around 30 minutes north. I've been there hundreds of times and never had any problems. The main areas you would have to worry about is the poorer neighborhoods. Very nice place to live but quite expensive. They are many nice Plantations to visit just north of Tallahassee.Is Tallahassee a Rough city to raise kids in?
The school system is your main concern. Florida consistently ranks in the bottom of nationwide school tests. If you can afford it, check into private school in your area.
There has always been a higher population of homeless people throughout Fl. due to the warmer weather and lax patrol of them, but m ost are harmless. Some cities worse than others; probably Tampa area one of the worst.
As you get closer to shorelines, the problems lessen in general.
